The EPM measure is available to a utility’s Commercial and Industrial Sectors and while similar, the following process outlines the industrial-specific elements. Please visit the Commercial EPM webpage to learn how commercial facilities can participate. Below is the simple outline to the Industrial EPM Enrollment Process:
When an industrial facility is interested in enrolling an EPM, they will talk with their serving utility to see if they currently offer the EPM measure and have co-funded incentives available. The utility will work with the facility and Energy Smart Industrial Partner, or ESIP, to begin the enrollment process by completing the EPM Enrollment Application, while the utility’s ESIP assists the designated EPM with developing the initial EPM Comprehensive Site Plan. Some utilities may require a supplemental application in addition to the EPM Enrollment Application.
The EPM will work in tandem with the ESIP and any Technical Service Providers, or TSP, who perform services that may include initial scoping, project assessments, and post-project measurement and verification necessary to develop and implement projects. EPM savings are reviewed and approved through measure-specific standard operating procedures as defined in BPA’s Implementation Manual in conjunction with applicable prescriptive and custom Industrial measures.
Enrollment requirements:
- A qualified individual to serve as the EPM
- An energy-savings goal of at least 200,000 kWh per site that includes at least one non-lighting project
- An eligible site may consist of a single building, facility, municipality, or it may include multiple contiguous buildings (e.g. a campus or complex).
- Eligible projects must be completed on or after the EPM commencement date.
